Temperatures are starting out on a warm note this morning, with many of us still in the 50s and upper 40s. We have rain moving into our area now, with some of our northern counties seeing some scattered showers. Most of the rain will be falling before lunchtime, with some clearing possible after 1 or 2 PM. Around 8 PM we’re going to see that second wave of rain, and temperatures will start to come down around this time. Some flakes will mix in with the rain, but we’re not looking at any meaningful accumulation. Some of these flurries will linger into tomorrow morning, but they’ll taper off by the afternoon hours, giving us some nice sunshine. Rainfall amounts are looking to be light, with most of us seeing less than a quarter of an inch of rain.

This rain is thanks to a cold front that’ll be bringing us cooler weather into tomorrow morning. Another blast of cold air will arrive on Sunday, but temperatures will recover at the start of the week. Today and tomorrow, we will top off in the mid and low 50s, with seasonable weather on Saturday and Monday. Sunday’s high temperatures will only get into the mid 30s, as we sit about ten degrees below normal.

Winds will be gusty with this cold front, with gusts of up to 30 mph possible from the west. These gusts will continue into tomorrow. As a result of these gusts and cooler temps, wind chill values tomorrow morning will be in the 20s, so we’re going to get a bit of weather whiplash after yesterday’s 60-degree weather.

As we head into Saturday, we have the chance for some scattered rain and snow showers as temperatures drop into the teens overnight. Next week looks to be a bit unsettled. Stay tuned!
