Tonight, mostly clear skies will dominate. Temperatures will dip slightly below average for this time of year, reaching the mid to upper 20s. Winds will blow from the WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

On Sunday, expect a mix of sun and clouds in the morning, followed by mostly sunny skies in the afternoon. Highs will reach the upper 40s to low 50s.

A low-pressure system in the Gulf will track up the Southeast coast Sunday night into Monday. It should stay far enough south and east to only bring some clouds to our area.

As the low moves away, skies will gradually clear Monday afternoon as high pressure builds in from the west. That system will usher in May-like warmth for next week.

Dry conditions will persist through most of the week. A weak system may attempt to bring a few light showers on Thursday, but the better chance for rain and thunderstorms will likely hold off until next weekend. Long-range model guidance shows strong wind energy with that system, but it’s still too early to determine if severe weather will be a factor.
