BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) - One week from today, August’s full moon will shine bright in the sky. Known as the sturgeon moon, this moon will be the 3rd out of 4 of the season’s full moon, making it a “blue moon”.

It will also be a Supermoon, as it will be closer than usual to the earth, making it appear brighter and larger. We’ve got 3 more Supermoons left after this one this year - one in September, October, and November.
