Meteorology Monday: Meteorological Fall vs. Astronomical Fall

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) -As of September 1st, Meteorological Fall has begun. While we’ll also observe Fall on September 22nd, during our Fall equinox, meteorologists observe the start of the new season weeks earlier, following annual temperature trends. Meteorological seasons are divided into 3 months, in order to help keep seasonal stats more accurate.
