TAZEWELL COUNTY, Va. (WVVA) - Governor Jim Justice’s financial woes are not limited to the Mountain State.

Justice owes Tazewell County, Virginia $572,692 in mineral taxes, personal property, and real estate dating back to 2018 according to Tazewell County Treasurer David Larimer.

Larimer said Justice has been making payments, however, the years have continued to add up, so it has done no good in lessening the debt.

Negotiations between the county and Justice are still ongoing and have been for a while.

Tazewell County Board of Supervisors are considering taking property as a form of payment for taxes and turning that land into ATV trails.

Property has been seized from Justice two times between 2012 and 2018 due to defaults on the payment plan.

WVVA has reached out to County Administrator Eric Young for more information on negotiations and plans for land should Justice agree to the exchange.
