PRINCETON, W.Va. (WVVA) - The City of Princeton is preparing for the upcoming city municipal election.

This June elections are for the four ward council seats.

Currently the seats are held by Jacqueline Rucker in ward one, Marshall Lytton in ward two, James Hawkins in ward three and Joseph Allen in ward four.

Anyone not registered to vote may do so at the voter registration office at the Mercer County Courthouse until May 13.

The City Clerk for Princeton said if anyone is interested in speaking to chair members, they can.

“They are always welcomed to come to a council meeting, and we have public input, and they can talk to them then. We have committee meetings too, it’s more of a personal thing at committee meetings they are welcomed to come and talk to them before the meeting starts,” said Kaitlyn Ellison, City Clerk for Princeton.

The election is on June 3, but early voting begins on May 21.

Anyone interested in running for council can pick up a packet at Princeton City Hall beginning February 1.
