CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WVVA) - After upsetting the back-to-back defending State Champions, Wyoming East, Tuesday night in the Class AA Quarterfinals, James Monroe was back at it again Thursday night.
The Lady Mavs faced #1 Wheeling Central in the semi-finals, with a trip to the title game on the line.
Wheeling Central shot their way to a 26-9 lead at the end of the first, thanks to being 4-5 from 3-point range.
The Lady Mavs cut the lead to 10 right before the half, giving them a little bit of life, but the Lady Maroon Knights continued their dominance out of the break.
James Monroe’s season comes to an end in the AA State semi-finals, finishing the year with a total record of 21-4.
