McDowell County residents asked to consider conserving water

People in McDowell County have been asked to consider conserving water if they’re able.

MCDOWELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WVVA) - People in McDowell County are being asked to consider conserving water because of the drought situation affecting the county.

The McDowell County 911 & Office of Emergency Services put out a statement on Facebook saying that the suggestion is not meant to scare anyone. According to the statement, McDowell County is in a moderate drought, and streams and rivers within the county are low, and smaller streams have dried up.

People in McDowell County have been asked to consider conserving water if they’re able to. The statement goes on to say that steps taken now could help the water situation in the future.
