WYOMING COUNTY, W.Va. (WVVA) - Tuesday night saw a basketball game with community aid at its heart.

Westside High School hosted a charity basketball game against Greater Beckley where donations were taken at the door for those affected by the flooding in Wyoming County. There was no admission price and all proceeds went to area families in need.

According to Westside High School Principal Katie Endicott, $5,500 was raised at the game.

The band trailer was also set up on Tuesday night collecting cleaning supplies and bottled water. Concessions were free at the event to give back to the community as they rebuild from the natural disaster.

Earlier in the day volunteers came together at Westside High School to pack more than 1,000 meals for Wyoming County residents.
