Mair Famet

Mair Famet joined the WHSV team in June 2024 as a Multimedia Journalist. Mair is from Durham, North Carolina. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and obtained a degree in Media and Journalism in 2024.
While at UNC-Chapel Hill, Mair worked for its on-campus broadcast, Carolina Week, where she served as a reporter, assignment manager, anchor and producer. Mair focused her reporting on public life issues such as food insecurity, affordable housing and outreach in underrepresented communities. Mair also wrote for The Durham VOICE, a publication based out of UNC-Chapel Hill that served the Durham, North Carolina community. Additionally, Mair served as the Reports host on WXYC 89.3 FM, UNC-Chapel Hill's student-run radio station.
In her free time, Mair loves giving back to the community by volunteering at local food pantries and mentoring the youth. She also enjoys hiking, crocheting, and taste-testing different restaurants.
