BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) - The Bluefield State (BSU) Big Blue and Concord Mountain lions took the court Wednesday night for the firs time between Mercer County foes in a men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader.

In the women’s game, Concord won wire-to-wire, as behind 27 points from Abbie Smith and 19 from Skylar Davidson, the Mountain lions kept steady throughout to win 85-72.

In the men’s game, it was a back-and-forth start until BSU went on a 21-6 run to end the first half and led 51-37. In the end, the Big Blue’s avalanche was too much for the Mountain lions as Jordan Hinds (32 points) leads the team to a 103-88 victory.
