16-year-old killed after falling from hood of car, officials say

NEAR AVA, Mo. (KYTV/Gray News) - A teen in Missouri was hit and killed Monday night after officials said he fell off the hood of a car.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to County Road 500, one mile west of Ava, Missouri, just before 7 p.m. Ava is just east of Springfield, Missouri.
Troopers reported that a 15-year-old was driving the vehicle involved.
The 16-year-old victim’s identity was not released.
This is Troop G’s seventh fatality for 2025, compared to two during the same time last year.
