ATLANTA (WANF/Gray News) - Authorities in Georgia have ordered a day care facility to close.

According to the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, a Forsyth County day care has been ordered for an emergency closure, saying the facility has placed the “health, safety, and welfare of children in imminent danger.”

Authorities said several children were given medicine they were too young to be taking.

The temporary closure order from the state was issued to Forysth Methodist Church-Caring For Kids.

Earlier this month, three 2-year-olds were given Benadryl “without obtaining parental authorization prior,” the order stated.

Authorities said Kendasja Hughley is also facing charges of reckless conduct in connection with the reported March 5 incident.

Georgia authorities said the day care closure is effective immediately for 21 days with the facility able to appeal the decision.
