WVU issues warning after recent domestic violence incident, searches for suspect
MORGANTOWN, W.Va (WDTV) - West Virginia University Police issued a Campus Warning Thursday after a domestic violence incident that occurred on Tuesday.
The incident occurred in the University Place parking garage located on University Avenue, officials said. However, the suspect nor the victim are WVU students or employees.
Police are actively searching for Saquan Moore and have issued an arrest warrant for domestic violence.
A disturbance was reported in the parking garage, and although the suspect and victim left the area separately, witness interviews and surveillance footage led to the identification of Moore, police said.
Moore is banned from WVU property, effective immediately, officials said.
Anyone with information relating to the incident or the whereabouts of Moore is asked to call University Police at 203-293-2677 or to visit the department at 992 Elmer Prince Drive in Morgantown. Information may be shared anonymously, officials said.
“I want to publicly thank the individuals who immediately reported this incident,” Chief Sherry St. Clair said. “We tell the WVU community that if they see something to say something and this is a direct result of that.”
